As a young boy, West Coast MEDiA founder and president Larry Evey started to develop his interest in media production when first introduced to still photography. While later experimenting with advanced photographic darkroom techniques, Larry began producing 8mm film shorts with an old movie camera, later shown at his high school during special screenings.
In 1977, Evey began working for retail giant Meijer in Lansing as a photo clerk. He also worked part time as a corporate photographer shooting images around the state for the company's Annual Report each year. In the summer of 1981 he convinced the company to produce video in-house and helped to develop Meijer’s internal AV Department at their Grand Rapids corporate office. That same year, he produced the company's first training and historical video productions — From concept to completion. At the same time he operated his own production business part time with company approval.
In 1991, Evey left Meijer to focus his attention on expanding his video production company. Now, over 30 years later, he uses his wide range of photography and video production talents to produce high-quality videos for a variety of clients around the world.
